Hi! 🥳
My name is Wiktoria Gruca, but call me Wiki! I’m soon 22 years old, born in Poland in Zielona Góra and lived here in Sweden since I was 6 years old. Previously lived in Stockholm, exchange in France (Grenoble) and now here in Gothenburg for 3 years. I speak fluent Polish, Swedish, English and a little bit French but still learning haha.
Academic & work background
I’ve just got my Bachelor in Journalism here at Gothenburg University and studied Political/Social Science at Sciences Po in Grenoble for 4 month. Last year I took an intensive environmental journalism course in Finland too.
Journalistically I had an internship for two weeks at a local newspaper a little bit outside Gothenburg and then worked at the Swedish public service radio (Sveriges Radio) for 8 month at Juniornyheterna as a news radio broadcaster for children, where I also produced an podcast and got the chance to interview celebrities at the red carpet at P3 Guld Gala.
Other jobs are cheerleading coach, at a cafeteria, restaurant and Kappahl warehouse.
From university, and media high school, I gained a lot of journalistic experience with things as digital tools, radio, tv-broadcast, did a music video and commercial, student newspaper, reportage in various forms, photography, how to work in court as a journalist, social media, research tools and publication.
And now I’ll be volunteering as a photographer and videographer doing interviews at the Global Investigative Journalism Conference.
Skills
My English writing skills are good I would say, but I still need to practice grammar and more formal vocabulary at some points. I’ve used Excel before, only the basics, but never Python or other programming languages. I am more familiar with WordPress because we used it a lot here at the bachelor, and can use graphic/illustration skills with almost all Adobe programmes. Digital publishing, and specially on social media, I’ve done a lot as well as work with audio storytelling, radio and several podcasts.
I also really love to photograph and in the video/tv/filming category I’ve done reportages, music video, was a tv presenter live, filmed a morning tv-show and I am confident with the camera.

Knowledge & interest
I learned the European Parliament structure and how it works with for example decision making there, but I would say that I need to learn a lot more because right now I only know the basics.
Something relevant to investigative journalism is that i’ve done a research course before where I learned several skills, am a really good planner, have a contact net all over Sweden and in several countries and I also have a looot investigative ideas right now.
My own special interests/knowledge/hobbies are working out at the gym/running/yoga, cooking food (mostly nutritious), mental health and a lot of other health aspects in general for longevity, psychology of how humans work with for example decision making/thinking/affected by past events, love to travel & meet new people, womens biology, hiking, art, skincare, makeup, music & concerts & fun party events, nature walks, writing, love planning & organizing stuff, horse riding, cheerleading, reading and photography.
I also love to just go out for coffee/lunch/drink with friends (cappuccino with oat milk makes me little too happy), randomly sing for myself in my apartment and be spontaneous in life and try new things aswell!
Example: go paragliding randomly in France or book an 8h bus to Barcelona to celebrate Halloween. So don’t hesitate to ask for trying something new together!
Other
I will be able to support with 3 years knowledge about places in Gothenburg and the Gothenburgs University, am a good listener/person to discuss anything with for any help or advice you need, always up for hanging out/organize something fun all together, journalistic experience in real life and several projects before work experience and in group work with the planning/organization skills and engagement in conversations!
Would love to have a project on the side as for example a podcast or a more journalistic Instagram, but can’t make up my mind of exactly what yet… Please give input/reach out with any thoughts if you’re thinking the same haha!
