Other places where you have lived: I have lived in Berlin, Germany since 2011 and stayed in Nice, France for one Semester in 2014.
Where are you living at the moment? In a tiny house in the forest north-east of Gothenburg
Languages: Native speaker of German und Urdu, fluent in English and B1-B2 in French
Academic background: Area Studies Asia/Africa and Philosophy as a minor subject. My thesis dealt with the question of migration and feminist social movements, for which I conducted qualitative research with activist refugee women in Berlin.
Work background: Editor of a monthly newspaper for two years and for a print magazine for five years (both in German). At Missy Magazine I was mainly responsible for political analyses and the “Dossier”, in which we highlight a topic from a feminist perspective on several pages in each issue. I regularly write my own articles, mostly on music and health topics. I also worked as an editor at a monthly newspaper with a focus on social movements. Here, I gained my first experience in newspaper production. Apart from that, I occasionally do freelance writing, editing and proof-reading for different online and print magazines, newspapers, academic and literary publications in German. Sometimes I work as a translator for Urdu-German or English-German. I also worked as a research assistant and conducted qualitative interviews with refugees all over Germany about their living conditions.
