Work background: I have experience in tax, environmental and mining law (2019-2022). I decided to take a gap year in Australia, where I worked as a swim instructor and later manager of the swim academy (2022). In 2023, I returned to Perú, where I co-founded a legal tech start-up on consumer law. We attempted to make legal aid accessible to consumers in Perú through a standardized format of similar cases.

Journalistic experience: I have some experience writing in Spanish for online magazines. Moreover, when creating my start-up, I propelled the creation of a blog that would explain legal concepts or current situations that news outlets would often overcomplicate.

Writing skills (English): I have taken various classes in academic English that have helped me improve my writing skills. I volunteered as a tutor for high school students/university students who had problems with their academic writing skills. Furthermore, I wrote reports in English at my former law firm and never had any issues with the work. However, I am looking forward to learning more about the structure of journalistic pieces to keep improving my writing skills.

Digital publishing/social media?: I have worked as the social media manager of three small companies. Moreover, when launching my start-up, I was in charge of social media.

Photography? I am by no means a pro, but if prompted, I WILL take killer Instagram pictures for my friends 🔥

I realized law was not for me when working at one of Perú’s best law firms, and I enjoyed everything but the legal work. Through ethical investigative work, I found information my bosses thought impossible to obtain. I enjoyed scouring the internet for clues, convincing the various actors in the way to help me out, as well as writing out the report.

They say that the best job is the one that does not feel as such, and I feel like investigating feels like that for me. Since online sources are not as open as in Sweden, I have had to find other ways to collect trustworthy data (all legal and ethical).

Other skills/hobbies: I go absolutely feral for trivia nights. During almost the entirety of 2022, I forced my friends to accompany me every Wednesday to trivia nights. We NEVER won, though. Always second place, and I am still salty about it.

I believe Shrek 2 is the best Shrek movie (and maybe the best movie, period), so I can (and will) rewatch it very often.
I play Wordle every SINGLE day, and my TikTok is very deep into WordleTok (yes, it is a thing).
I’ve practised fencing since I was ten, and I love it! I do yoga when I want (and need) to chill.

I think I will be able to support my fellow students with:
- I am happy to talk about Perú whenever they’re interested! I am aware they may not know much about my country, so I am absolutely ecstatic to share as much as I can!
- I also have information about random topics and love to learn anything new, so please, let’s talk about everything! I am always on board, from Taylor Swift to the world’s capital cities.
